Patheon Sells Pharma Packaging Business to Bellwyck

The contract packager has sold its secondary clinical packaging business to the firm; approximately 20 Patheon employees also are making the move.
Patheon Inc., a leading provider of contract development and manufacturing services to the global pharmaceutical industry, announced today that it has sold its global secondary clinical packaging and clinical distribution services business to Bellwyck Packaging Solutions, a private company with 20 years experience providing clinical trial and contract services for secondary packaging.

Millstone Medical Expands Capacity for Medical Manufacturers

Millstone Medical Outsourcing will expand its Memphis, TN, operations to a new facility offering 150,000 square feet for mechanical inspection, loaner kit processing, bone/tissue storage, packaging services, and distribution, the company reported in a press release. Memphis staff will move with Millstone Medical to the new facility in Olive Branch, MS, a Memphis suburb.  Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the fourth quarter of 2012. Its current facility in Memphis will remain open.

Fraunhofer IZI to Manufacture Brain Cancer Therapy for Northwest Bio

The firm will produce the DCVax-L immune therapy for patients with Gliobastoma multiforme brain cancer.

Northwest Biotherapeutics, Inc. (OTC.BB: NWBO) (the "Company" or "Northwest Bio") announced today that its partner in Germany, Fraunhofer IZI, has received the official approval and certification from the regional and national regulatory agencies in Germany (including the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, or PEI – the German equivalent of the U.S. FDA) for the manufacture of Northwest Bio's DCVax-L immune therapy for human patients with Glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer.
