Four contract packaging and repackaging companies in the pharmaceutical industry have joined forces to create a new, single-source service provider, Aphena Pharma Solutions (www.aphenapharma.com).

Aphena is a new corporation based on a strategic alliance among Celeste Contract Packaging, PrePak Systems, TestPak, and Integrated Pharmaceutical Packaging.

Berry Plastics Corp. has announced plans to acquire in excess of 99.99% of the common stock of Pliant Corp. upon the emergence of Pliant from bankruptcy. Pliant will remain separately capitalized as an unrestricted subsidiary of Berry.
