Pharmapack Europe 2014: Plan Now

Popular event for pharmaceutical packaging and drug-delivery solutions moves to a new location in Paris.

Pharmapack Europe is expected to draw more than 3000 visitors February 12–13, 2014 at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, the show’s new location. With 330 exhibitors from over 70 countries, the event will offer a unique opportunity to witness the latest innovations and trends in packaging and delivery systems for pharmaceuticals and healthcare products. “As we expect even greater numbers of participants for the 2014 edition, we have opted for a larger space capable of accommodating around 330 exhibitors. In addition, this new site is located at the edge of central Paris and offers easy access, enabling the event to pursue its international development by providing more extensive top-quality services and facilities to suit professionals arriving from throughout the world,” explains Aurore Domange, Event Manager of Pharmapack Europe.

Cartons, Labels, and Literature
An international producer of packaging solutions has entered into a strategic alliance with Italian company Grafiche Pizzi, a manufacturer and marketer of leaflets to the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. Award-Winning Packaging
A company has been named Design Team of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards and was among the finalists in the Packaging Company of the Year category. The team created designs on a variety of pack types and substrates later manufactured using gravure, digital, flexo, and litho print processes. Typical applications include security print designs, narrow tear tape opening devices, and larger package labels. The 2014 show’s theme will be compliance and safety, particularly during the conference program, which will explore packaging and drug-delivery systems developed to improve compliance and delivery of treatments as well as the safety of patients and caregivers. “Pharmapack Europe is a showcase for technology and an incubator for innovations in packaging and drug delivery for healthcare products. The event brings together key healthcare stakeholders and offers the opportunity to consider the trends and innovations of the future, taking into account the difficulties faced by carers, patients, medication manufacturers and providers of solutions, from the design phase through to finished products”, emphasises Aurore Domange.

In addition to the conference, a day-long technical symposium will explore serialization and track and trace, “How to Understand and Deploy All Aspects of Track & Trace in the Pharmaceutical Industry.”

Debuting at Pharmapack Europe 2014 will be the Innovation Gallery, a showcase on the exhibition floor celebrating the latest exhibitor innovations, including those under consideration for the Pharmapack Awards.

And continuing its tradition is the Pharmapack Awards program for 2014. The judging panel will present awards for medications, medical devices, healthcare products and veterinary medicines marketed between January and December 2013. Highlighted will be progress in smart packaging and to innovations that result in significant improvements to the correct use of medications and compliance with treatments, show organizers report.
