Bell-Mark Featured High-Definition Printer at WestPack

For printing static and variable data inline, Bell-Mark (www.bell-mark.com) at WestPack introduced the InteliJet HD piezo ink-jet printer. Compactly designed to fit on horizontal form-fill-seal machines, blister packaging machines, and flow wrappers, the unit features the highest resolution ink-jet print head technology available, says Doug Buch, director, marketing/IT.

With a print resolution of 600×600 dpi, the InteliJet HD enables clear, sharp printing of small DataMatrix codes, perfectly legible printing of text as small as 4 pt, and precision shading for complex art work, Buch says.

A UV ink system, the unit features four 4-in. stitched heads each with 2600 nozzles, with a maximum print width of 540 mm (21.25 in.). Seamless, high-speed printing of text, bar codes, serial numbers, logos, dates, and times can be done at any position on the web without having to stack and align print heads, he adds.

An LED UV curing system dries the ink instantly for sharper, richer color on porous and nonporous surfaces.

PC-based software with editing tools for design and modification of output templates is specially designed for managing variable data printing, with work flows in online and offline modes. A user-friendly touch screen PCS supports interactive control, status monitoring, and option setting.
