Sterile Injectables at the Ready

American Pharmaceutical Partners Inc. (APP; Schaumburg, IL), a manufacturer of sterile injectable generic drugs for the United States and Canada, and Technoflex S.A. (Bidart, France), a supplier of polypropylene and PVC bags and closures, are forming a joint-venture to manufacture sterile-filled injectable drugs at APP’s facility in Grand Island, NY. The majority of the venture, to be called Readyflex Solutions LLC, will be owned by APP. APP will also supervise the joint committee that will manage Readyflex Solutions. APP will contribute its regulatory and marketing expertise and resources to the venture. Technoflex will provide its sterile bag manufacturing and filling expertise and will supply packaging components.
