After working more than 20 years with UCIMA, Guido Corbella is stepping down on December 31, 2006, as president of the Italian Association of Automatic Packing and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers (Milan, Italy). Corbella will continue to act as president of ACIMGA, the Italian Manufacturer’s Association of Machinery for the Graphic, Converting, and Paper Industry (Milan), and managing director of Centrexpo SpA and Ipack Ima SpA, both also located in Milan.
MeadWestvaco Corp. (Richmond, VA) has elected James M. Kilts to its board of directors. Kilts is a founding partner with Centerview Partners (New York City). He was formerly a vice chairman of Procter & Gamble, during which time he oversaw the consolidation of the Gillette and Procter & Gamble businesses. Kilts is a member of the boards of directors of The New York Times Co. and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He also is on the board of trustees at Knox College and at the University of Chicago, and he is chairman of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
John Schneider has been named vice president and general manager of Zip-Pak (Manteno, IL), a provider of resealable packaging solutions. Schneider is responsible for five of the company’s businesses: Zip-Pak Manteno, IL; Zip-Pak Ottawa, IL; Zip-Pak Orangeburg, NY; Zip-Pak Atlanta; and Zip-Pak Systems Division in Duluth, GA. Schneider will oversee new product development, manufacturing, and commercial activities in North America.
