Pharmaceutical and medical labeling provider Cortegra (Fairfield, NJ) recently named John Kay as its vice president, operations. Kay was most recently the director, corporate development and effectiveness, for Mid-Atlantic commercial construction company J.J. White Inc. (Philadelphia). He spent 15 years in leadership roles within Alcoa’s Customer and Flexible Packaging divisions. Kay has a master’s degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
Commercial laser manufacturer Rofin Baasel Lasertech (Starnberg, Germany) has appointed Stephan Geiger its managing director and Christine Hermann its division manager, research and development. Geiger joined Rofin’s Micro Division in 2006 as manager of its New Technologies business unit; he was responsible for the development of new laser sources and systems. Geiger was formerly managing partner of Bavarian Photonics GmbH, which he co-founded in 2002. He holds a degree in physical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.
Hermann joined Rofin Baasel Lasertech in 1989. She has managed hardware and software development since 2001. Hermann has an electrical engineering degree from the Fachhochschule in Munich.
James J. Hanson
RFID solutions provider Wavetrend Technologies Ltd. (Richmond, United Kingdom) has hired Edward Gonsalves to its executive team as senior vice president, product development. Gonsalves has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor and high-technology industries. He joins Wavetrend after working for five years at NXP Semiconductors, developing RFID in North America. Gonsalves has both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he serves as an adjunct professor.
Methods Machine Tools Inc. (Sudbury, MA) has hired James J. Hanson as its director, corporate development. In his new post, Hanson will evaluate every aspect of Methods’ business, with an eye toward future growth of the company at all levels. Hanson spent 17 years with Applied Materials Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), where he focused on sales and customer engineering support. Hanson graduated from the United States Military Academy and subsequently spent five years in the U.S. Army.
Contract decorator and supplier of custom specialty tubes TecTubes (Pitman, NJ) has hired Christopher D. Willey as its director, sales and marketing. Willey joins TecTubes in this newly created position after serving as vice president, sales and marketing, of New Jersey–based Everlast Coatings Inc. Willey holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Monmouth University.
Fume- and dust-extraction system manufacturer Purex International Ltd. (Rotherham, United Kingdom) has hired Bob Pitchford as its head of sales and marketing. Pitchford has 25 years of experience in the electronics industry, holding various sales and management positions over that time, most recently as director, business development, for Speedline Technologies.
