Alcan Inc.

(Montreal) has reached a nonbinding agreement in principle with Norsk Hydro to purchase VAW Packaging (FlexPac) for approximately [euro] 345 million. The proposed acquisition would enhance Alcan's global position in packaging, expanding its footprint technologically and regionally. 

 


DDL Inc. (Eden Prairie, MN) has established a testing facility in Costa Mesa, CA, to serve Southern California's biomedical industry. DDL West provides the same range of package, product, and material tests available at the company's original facility. 

Danaher Corp. (Washington, DC) has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Willett International Ltd. (Grapevine, TX) for approximately $110 million, which includes the assumption of about $27 million of debt. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions. 

Rapid Development Services Inc. (Chesterfield, MO) has completed its move into a new 117,000-sq-ft facility. The facility is the company's world headquarters, which includes sales, design, manufacturing, and distribution.

Almedica North America (Allendale, NJ) has appointed Albert Quintero as director, production systems. Quintero is an established specialist in the clinical trial materials management field.
