NEWSComar Inc. (Buena, NJ) and MGlas AG (Münnerstadt, Germany) have announced plans to market microtubular glass vials for use in unit-dose and multidose nasal spray pump assemblies for the North American pharmaceutical and biotech markets. According to Henry Tamagni, president and CEO of Comar, “The synergy offered by both companies will enhance product development and streamline supply-chain logistics.”

In papers filed with the New Jersey bankruptcy court, Saint-Gobain– Health Markets (Postenkill, NY) will continue litigation against Truseal for infringement of a Saint-Gobain patent. This follows the filing of a Chapter 11 petition by Truseal. The Chapter 11 filing was made only hours before a scheduled hearing to enter default against Truseal in Saint-Gobain’s patent infringement action.

Toren Consulting Engineers (Sydney, Australia) has appointed Montesino Associates as international representative for TorenPak patented dispensing systems. The TorenPak offers a step forward in the development of dispensing packaging solutions that are inherently child resistant and senior friendly.

York Label has installed HP’s (San Diego) Indigo ws4000 press to convert high-quality on-demand labels. The new press will allow York to efficiently supply high-end print labels for short- run orders, orders with multiple SKUs, prototypes, product rollouts, and promotionals or labels requiring variable data.

The new concept consists of an automated cartoning machine, a unique package design, and a specially developed board grade. Bosch Packaging Technology Division is responsible for machine development, manufacturing, and worldwide service, while Stora Enso is responsible for packaging material and design.

Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN) has announced a breakthrough technology in PET manufacturing. The company will build a 350,000 metric ton integrated PET manufacturing facility using this new technology at its existing site in Columbia, SC.

Enova Medical Technologies (St. Paul, MN) has gained approximately 40% of additional square footage by expanding its operations into an adjoining space. The company also added new customers, increased business from current customers, and developed a new product line for an existing customer.
