NAMSA (Northwood, OH) provides clients with a single document that summarizes all of the testing performed at the company for a specific device. The NAMSA certificate of compliance can be used when submitting information to regulatory agencies, notified bodies, or customers. The certificate serves as proof of compliance to applicable standards and will initially be available for ISO 10992 or FDA GP 95-1 required testing.
Bosch Packaging Technology (Minneapolis) has announced the purchase of the SIG Pack Division, which has North American facilities in New Richmond, WI; Shell Lake, WI; and Raleigh, NC. The purchase is part of a Bosch global strategy to expand and diversify its position in packaging machinery and related fields.
Resin Technology Inc. (RTI; Ft. Worth, TX) has created a new group within the organization that advises processors how to more effectively use and reduce the cost of color concentrate. RTI provides resin analysis and consultation services to molders and extruders.
The United States Pharmacopeia (USP; Rockville, MD) has successfully completed registration to the ISO 9001:2000 standard for quality management systems. USP has also committed to registration to ISO 17025, which will demonstrate compliance in the science laboratories. Completion of this registration is expected by the end of 2004.
Micropure Medical (St. Paul, MN) is now Enova Medical Technologies. The company provides services such as product design engineering, packaging design and fulfillment, manufacturing, cleanroom device assembly, and contract sterilization services.
Rexam (Mundelein, IL) has reached agreement with Compagnie Plastic Omnium to acquire its pharmaceutical packaging business, Plastic Omnium Medical. The company has one factory based in La Verpilliere, south of Lyon in France, and employs approximately 170 people.
The Institute of Packaging Professionals (Naperville, IL) is now accepting entries for The AmeriStar Package Awards. Winning packages will be displayed at Pack Expo International 2004, November 7ï¿½11, in Chicago. AmeriStar winners will also automatically qualify for entry into the World Packaging Organizationï¿½s World Star Packaging Awards competition.
