Children's AccuDial® Wins the Edison Best New Product Award in the Consumer Packaged Goods Category

Children's AccuDial has been named a 2011 Edison Awards winner. Children's AccuDial, a product line of AccuDial Pharmaceutical Inc., won gold in the Consumer Packaged Goods category, one of 12 categories honored by the Edison Awards. AccuDial Pharmaceutical Inc.'s corporate headquarters is in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Nitroglycerin Transdermal Delivery System Features Key Packaging Features

The generic pharmaceutical company Alvogen Inc. (Parsippany, N.J.) introduces the AB-1 rated Nitroglycerin Transdermal Delivery System, which is available in patient-ready, 30-count cartons and includes several key packaging features designed to improve care. Some of these features are RSS barcoding on each individual unit; the smallest available patch sizes of any generic nitroglycerin system; and hypoallergenic, transparent patches.

Körber acquires Seidenader Maschinenbau

The Hamburg-based Körber Group is buying the company Seidenader Maschinenbau GmbH (Markt Schwaben, Germany). Seidenader is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of inspection machines, software, and vision applications for pharmaceutical production. Körber AG is using this acquisition to boost its fast-growing Pharmaceutical Packaging Systems Division headed by Körber Medipak.
 

Currier Plastics Makes Investment in 3D Engineering System

Currier Plastics Inc., a multidiscipline processor has continued to grow in the Packaging, Electronics, Medical and Instrumentation markets and has recently made additional investments to their Design & Engineering Department by adding a Next Engine 3 Dimensional Scanner system. The 3D scanner system gives the user the ability to scan any object and obtain highly accurate and measured data that can then be further developed into a workable model.

The Medical Design Excellence Awards program is accepting entries for its 2011 competition from companies and individuals worldwide involved in the design, engineering, manufacture, or distribution of finished medical devices or packaging products. The program is presented by Canon Communications, the leading producer of face-to-face, digital, print, and online business acceleration products for the worldwide medical device industry and sponsored by MD+DI magazine.

Pump Enhances Cetaphil Brand

A new pump design for Cetaphil promotes measured dosing to prevent sun damage.

The Cetaphil brand has added a press tube pump to the new UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50 line of products. The new press tube pump became available March 1. The product was launched to fill a need for a facial moisturizer with a high SPF that is cosmetically acceptable while providing UVA and UVB coverage.
