Berlin Packaging Lands NACD Honors for OTC Package

The company’s multiple National Assn. of Container Distributors honors include a bronze award for a Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals package design.

Berlin Packaging, a full-service supplier of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures, was once again one of the top winners at the 2012 National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) Package Awards Competition, taking honors in multiple categories. The wins, which include designs for Mission Athletecare, Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals, Ainsworth Pet Nutrition and IHOP (International House of Pancakes, LLC), build upon the company's 2011 showing when it won best in show honors for Pampers Kandoo hand soap, along with six other awards.

OTC ‘Female Intimacy’ Drug Recalled

Packages of RegenArouse, a drug designed to enhance female sexual health, are being recalled because they may contain a male ED drug.

Regeneca, Inc. announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of RegenArouse, Lot Number 130100, because FDA lab analysis has confirmed the presence of Tadalafil making these products unapproved new drugs. Tadalafil is an FDA-approved drug used as treatment for male Erectile Dysfunction (ED). The active drug ingredient is not listed on the label for these products.

Package Design Supports Launch of Advil Congestion Relief

Pfizer Consumer Healthcare launched Advil Congestion Relief with an eye-grabbing color scheme and an extended content label (ECL) for meeting label requirements.
“The unique design clearly communicates the ingredients and indications, [with a] color scheme that really pops on the shelf. We used an ECL adhered to the carton to accommodate the required labeling. The primary blister package was also designed [to carry labeling information],” says Jody Cook, director of North American Communications, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
