OSO BioPharmaceuticals Invests $5 Million in New Equipment, Infrastructure

The company has implemented various equipment and building improvements, including a rolling diaphragm pump filling suite from Bosch.

OSO BioPharmaceuticals Manufacturing LLC is investing more than $5 million in equipment and infrastructural improvements that include a new Grade A aseptic filling suite for liquid, suspension and lyophilized products.

The rolling diaphragm pump filling suite, manufactured by Bosch, comes equipped with optional rotary piston and peristaltic pumps. It will function at 115 percent of the previous line’s capacity, increasing the speed and efficiency with which OsoBio can deliver drug products to clients.

Omega Design Sponsors Students’ Packaging Tech Project

The company supported a team of mechanical engineering students from the University of Delaware on developing innovative pharma packaging technology.

Following a successful semester-long project, a team of four senior Mechanical Engineering students from the University of Delaware recently presented their Adjustable Bottle Transfer System to Omega Design Corporation, a global provider of innovative packaging machinery and serialization solutions and the worldwide leader in bottle unscrambling technology.  Omega sponsored the team’s Fall 2011 Senior Project, designed to give students real-world career experience prior to graduating.

QS Pharma to Produce OSTORA for Tarsa Therapeutics

The pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging company will produce OSTORA tablets, which treat postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Tarsa Therapeutics today announced it has entered into a commercial supply agreement with QS Pharma for the bulk manufacture of its OSTORA oral recombinant salmon calcitonin tablet.  The OSTORA tablets, which will be manufactured in QS Pharma's state-of-the-art facility in Pennsylvania, will be used for product launch and commercial sale.
