Paperboard packaging supplier Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging has installed a new Alprinta 52 web offset press at its Hicksville, NY, facility. The four–color press, which can run materials up to 20.5 in. wide and 40 in. long, will be used to print patient-information leaflets for the healthcare market. It also features UV curing and a non-stop rewinding unit for re-insertion, giving Chesapeake the capacities to run up to 8 colors.
Clondalkin Pharma & Healthcare, a unit of the Specialist Packaging Division of Clondalkin Group, has established sales and marketing offices in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The company has also signed a long-term manufacturing and marketing agreement with Saint Petersburg-based packaging producer Industry of Colour (Incol). Incol will support Clondalkin with local production and finishing activities.
Miniature Folding Inc., a family-owned commercial and pharmaceutical printer in Elmwood Park, NJ, has purchased a Vijuk MV-11 Triple Knife Outsert System from Vijuk Equipment Inc. (Elmhurst, IL.) Seeing sheet sizes continuing to grow, Miniature Folding Inc. required a larger-format, miniature-folding outsert machine.

Cortegra, a U.S. producer of leaflets and labels with two production facilities dedicated to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, will add to Chesapeake’s existing three U.S. facilities and its global supply network.
