Poisoning is the third leading cause for injury in the WHO European region, and more than $3 billion is spent annually in the United States on poisoning treatment, shared Olof Malmgren, business development manager for Faubel, at Pharmapack Europe. Malmgren spoke before the audience in Paris on February 16.

Packaging systems that promote safety were celebrated during the 2012 Pharmapack Awards, held during Pharmapack Europe February 15-16 in Paris. Recognized with the Pharmapack ‘Safety Device’ award was the K-Pack Surshield developed by Terumo; the Pharmapack ‘Child-Resistant’ Award went to the Child-Resistant Slider developed by Burgopak.
