Tekni-Plex Inc. is investing more than $9 million to upgrade and expand manufacturing infrastructure at its Flemington, NJ, facility. Over the next 18 months, the global packaging material manufacturer will further enhance technology and increase capacity at the plant, which primarily produces multi-layer flexible packaging structures for a large range of heat-seal and pressure-sensitive closure liners.
The Flemington facility boasts a number of manufacturing capabilities, including extrusion and dry bond lamination, coating, slitting, and printing. The company serves the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and other markets, producing lidding foils for pharmaceutical blister packs, medical device packaging and pouch materials for the pharmaceutical industry
"Upgrading our Flemington facility enhances our ability to meet the needs of our expanding customer base with high-quality, competitively-priced products and provides the foundation to introduce new and innovative products," said David Andrulonis, General Manager and Vice President of Tekni-Plex's Flexibles Division, in a press release. “The project also utilizes the vast experience of our dedicated workforce to deliver a pipeline of new products nearing commercialization.”
