Two pharmaceutical projects to be recognized in the "Facility of the Year" program at Interphex 2013 featured equipment from Groninger. Among the winners were F. Hoffmann La Roche Ltd. and Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, both of which utilized machinery from Groninger, the company reported in a press release.
F. Hoffmann La Roche was recognized in the "Project Execution" category for its new research and development building. For this facility, Groninger provided a GMP-compliant processing line for liquid parenteral dosage forms, including integrating a cRABS and a freeze dryer with an automatic loading system.
Novartis was recognized in the "Process Innovation" category for its process for growing influenza virus without the use of eggs by using deep-tank mammalian cell technology. Groninger provided a high-speed syringe filling line under an isolator along with a packaging line.
The "Facility of the Year" program is awarded by Interphex in cooperation with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and Pharmaceutical Processing magazine, Goninger shared in the release.
