Another Pharmapack exhibitor promoting ready-to-use prefilled syringes and other drug-delivery solutions, Vetter Pharma International GmbH (Booth B15), recently hosted Dr. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, the German Federal Minister for Economics and Technology. Minister zu Guttenberg toured Vetter’s main facility in Ravensburg, Germany, specifically the Vetter South site, where liquid and lyophilized drugs are aseptically filled into ready-to-use syringes and other injection systems.

“We are delighted to welcome Minister zu Guttenberg,” commented Udo J. Vetter, Chairman of the Vetter Advisory Board. “Since the company’s founding, Vetter has been experiencing continuous growth and steadily gaining international recognition. We are proud to share our ongoing success story with Minister zu Guttenberg and to represent the sector of medium-sized German enterprises that have built up a strong reputation at home and internationally.”

Currently, Vetter counts 19 of the world’s top 20 drug makers amongst its clients, the company reports.

After his tour, Minister zu Guttenberg noted that, “As a highly innovative company, Vetter demonstrates that being a medium-sized company and attaining world leadership are in fact compatible. And, with its 60-year tradition, it has shown, too, that it knows how to overcome economic crises and even use them as an opportunity.”

Based in Ravensburg, Germany, Vetter also produces its own injection systems, such as the Vetter Lyo-Ject dual-chamber syringe. Vetter holds nearly 140 patents and has experience in handling client products and processes approved by the U.S. FDA, the EMEA, and other authorities. In 2007, the company also received approval as a foreign manufacturer for the Japanese pharmaceutical market from Japan’s Ministry for Health, Labor, and Welfare.

Vetter Development Service provides support for its pharmaceutical and biotech clients in the early stages of development, from clinical phases and regulatory approval to worldwide product launch. Vetter Commercial Manufacturing handles the entire production process, from compounding and aseptic filling to the final packaging of a product. Vetter Solutions’ patented application systems enable clients to compete more effectively throughout the world.
