Pharmapack Europe 2012: Popular show prepares for its eleventh edition

On February 15-16 in Paris, the 11th edition of Pharmapack Europe will host more than 250 leading companies involved in the design, manufacture, and supply of drug-delivery systems and pharmaceutical and medical packaging.

The conference sessions will be chaired by a table of international experts from healthcare authorities, laboratories, technology suppliers, universities, researchers, and pharmacists. Presentations will focus on advancements in packaging to protect medicinal products, provide patient information, and promote safe product use. These developments also improve compatibility, reduce environmental impact and costs, and help in the fight against counterfeiting.

There will also be a review of emerging technologies and delivery systems for all forms of medicinal products.

In 2012, Pharmapack Europe will debut a symposium on tertiary packaging and transportation of drug products under controlled temperatures. The symposium will also examine the challenges and issues faced by the supply chain. Highlighted will be efforts toward optimized logistics in terms of flow management, protection of products, and patient safety faced with the risks of counterfeit products.

Returning will be the Pharmapack Awards 2012 ceremony, which honors medicinal products, medical devices, healthcare products, and veterinary medicines marketed for the first time between November 2010 and December 2011.
