Stelmi, in Booth B19, has announced PremiumFill, a newly in-line concept to control the microbiological and particulate cleanliness levels in the production of sterile (ready-to-use) and cosmetic quality components. According to the company, each production step has been evaluated and appropriately redesigned to further limit the potential risk of contamination (endotoxins, bioburden, and particulates) and achieve greater assurance in the upstream production before final processing (washing of the components) and release. Production is available at the Brécey and Granville (Normandy) factories for “entirely autonomous production sites for every fabrication,” Stelmi reports.

Medica Packaging Ltd (Benson Group), exhibiting in Booth B33, has joined Copapharm Europe. Companies in the pan-European alliance produce cartons, leaflets, labels, and related services for multinational pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. In 2008 alone, Copapharm produced 6.17 billion cartons, 4.1 billion leaflets, and 1.98 billion labels. Medica will be the U.K. representative for the group.
