Increasing the safety and the ease of use of drug-delivery systems could improve patient healthcare in hospitals and beyond, suggested several speakers at Pharmapack 2009. Pharmacists and hospital care experts called for packaging innovations that could help increase the accuracy of pharmaceutical dosing while protecting both practitioners and patients from mistakes.
Also promoting the proper use of drugs and medical devices were winning packages recognized in the Pharmapack Awards 2009. Hospital pharmacist Philippe Arnaud, from Hôpital Bichat-Clause Bernard AP-HP and an expert with L’Agencie Française de Sécurité Sanitare des Produits de Santé, described the winners as embodying “quality, safety, and ease of use.”
Top Clean Packaging Group, which exhibited in booth B13, has opened a new office in the Netherlands to support growth in Northern Europe. The European medical packaging provider already maintains five companies established in France and China that specialize in plastics processing, ranging from thermoforming and silicone and thermoplastic injection to recycling.
