Using Customized Magnetic Technology for Authentication
Schreiner ProSecure is introducing authentication technology that can be incorporated into self-adhesive packaging. FluxSecure technology consists of a magnetically encoded, extremely thin thread that can be inserted between the adhesive and the masking paper.
Thinner than a human hair, FluxSecure consists of a metal alloy mixture and is surrounded by a glass coating. Given the technology's magnetic properties, the security feature can be read without line of sight using a handheld reader or a sensor that generates a magnetic field. Products can be verified even through heavy and metallic packaging, and customized sensor solutions are available for integration into machines, equipment, or products or for stationary reading systems.
Schreiner ProSecure reports that the alloy mixtures are customized and therefore not reproducible. The magnetic properties can be modified through variations of the alloy and changes to the thickness and length of the FluxSecure thread.
The FluxSecure technology can be integrated into existing products like folding boxes or blister packs and marking solutions. Since the security feature is hidden, it does not interfere with specified design patterns. Combinations with additional overt or covert security features are possible as well, the company reports.
Schreiner ProSecure is a business unit of Schreiner Group GmbH & Co. KG (info@schreiner-prosecure.com).
