TSA Approves Metal Detector for Screening Non-Metallic Air Cargo
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has added Eriez's E-Z Tec DSP Metal Detector to the Air Cargo Screening Technology List (ACSTL), the company reported in a press release. Eriez's technology is approved to screen non-metallic commodities in the air cargo environment.
According to Eriez, "the E-Z Tec DSP underwent a comprehensive evaluation that included the unit’s physical and functional configurations as well as detection performance for five non-metallic commodity classes." The TSA Technical Review Panel (TRP) found that the E-Z Tec DSP met Stage I qualification test criteria, the company added.
“The E-Z Tec DSP offers a safe, reliable and effective means for screening specified cargo,” says John Klinge, Eriez Product Manager—Metal Detection, in the press release. “The sophisticated DSP provides the efficiency required to keep cargo moving quickly and safely.”
The E-Z Tec DSP Metal Detector is designed to handle bulk, solid, or liquid materials processing. Users can view multiple line items at a glance on the touch screen interface. All numeric data and value entries are made through an on-screen calculator type interface, eliminating the need to scroll through long lists, the company reports.
