Temperature-Controlled Shippers Offered to Japan Relief Agencies
AcuTemp Thermal Systems and CSafe LLC are offering relief agencies the use of their temperature-controlled containers for shipping and storing blood, vaccines, and other temperature critical and sensitive medical supplies for the Japan relief effort, the companies reported today.
AcuTemp Thermal Systems makes active and passive containers for transporting temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and life-saving medical products, while CSafe LLC provides active container solutions for the temperature-sensitive airfreight market.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan," stated Brian Kohr, president of AcuTemp Thermal Systems and CSafe LLC, in a press release. "As we found with our products in the Haitian disaster, our rugged and solid performing cold-chain solutions are capable of transporting life-saving products into the most stricken and devastated areas.
"We know that it is absolutely critical to keep blood, medicines, and other medical supplies at the right temperature during transportation and distribution to ensure they are usable," he added.
Products available to relief agencies from AcuTemp include passive insulated shipping boxes and active mobile containers, such as the company's AX56L mobile refrigerator/freezer, which can be powered by either AC or battery. CSafe is making its battery or AC-powered refrigerated unit available to relief agencies and their transport partners.
