Schreiner MediPharm Introduces New Label for Cold Temperatures

Schreiner MediPharm (Oberschleissheim, Germany) unveiled a new labeling solution, specifically designed for cold temperatures and frozen products used during clinical trials.

According to the company, the new Pharma-Wrap label contains a transparent surface layer that prevents condensation from forming in temperatures below 4° F. This allows for a second, smaller label containing the variable data to be applied immediately after removing the product from the freezer, instead of having to remove the water in a separate process before the label can be marked or an additional label applied. It also protects the base label from abrasion and scratching.

Another benefit of the label the company is promoting is the presence of two detachable corners marked with a “P” for placebo and “V” for an active drug during clinical trials. After applying the label, the operator can detach the corner that doesn’t apply to indicate whether it’s an active drug or a placebo.

Additionally, the label features extended text space and wraps around ampules, vials, and small- to medium-sized containers.
