Schott's Ready-to-Fill Syringe Production Line Validated

Schott Pharmaceutical Packaging (Lebanon, PA), a division of Schott North America Inc., has completed facility and equipment validations of its syringe production line. Last year the facility underwent an expansion after more than $14 million in capital investments and added more than 40 new jobs. In addition, Schott Pharmaceutical Packaging has announced the product validation for its first ready-to-fill syringe customer, with several others in process.

Traditionally, the Lebanon facility has manufactured high-quality vials and cartridges for the pharmaceutical industry. Syringes were produced in Switzerland and imported to the United States.

“We have completed operational qualification of the syringe wash line,” said Renard Jackson, Vice President of Schott North America Inc. and General Manager of its Pharmaceutical Packaging Division. “We are now prepared to assist additional customers with their commercial production requirements for ready-to-fill syringes.”

The production line incorporates advanced technologies, including dimensional camera inspection and cleanroom final packaging.

With the addition of ready-to-fill syringes to its portfolio of vials, ampules, and cartridges, Schott's entire family of pharmaceutical packaging products is now produced in North America. Schott's products and production processes conform to U.S. FDA cGMPs standards.
