Sabic Offers New Anti-Static Compounds For Inhalation Devices

Pre-assessed for biocompatibility per ISO 10993, the materials eliminate the need for coatings and secondary operations, and help ensure repeatability of dosing and potentially lower drug costs through more efficient aerosal and powder dispensing, the company said.

 

In announcing the compounds at MD&M West in Anaheim, Sabic said the materials will help drive design flexibility with devices that can optimize patient dosing, and reduce manufacturing system costs.

 

The compounds are available in three transparent resin systems featuring superior clarity: acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polymethylmethacrylate, and Xylex resin. They are also available in opaque resins for combining opaque and clear components for design or functional purposes.
