According to show organizers, focusing on patient needs will “uncover new areas for research” and “promote convergence between the different sectors of the healthcare industry in order to create innovative solutions improving patient compliance with treatments and safety for patients and healthcare staff.” A panel of international experts will examine ways to balance such concerns with regulatory and market demands, guiding more than 40 semi-scientific presentations and a number of debates.
Specific tracks will include the following:
• Patient Safety & Compliance.
• Innovation in Parenteral Administration and Packaging Process.
• Innovation for Pulmonary and Nasal Forms of Drug Delivery.
• Targeted Drug Delivery via Convergent Technologies.
• Sustainable Packaging & Materials.
Also, debuting at the 2013 event will be a series of four technical workshops taking place alongside the conference. These sessions include:
• Drugs and Isothermal Packaging: is it better to travel alone or in bad company? (Workshop A).
• Serialisation: Track & Trace (Workshop B).
• Medical Packaging Sterilization & Validation (Workshop C).
• Innovative Combination Products: Challenges and Approvals, EU-US (Workshop D).
Finally, the Pharmapack Awards 2013 will recognize packaging for products launched between November 2011 and December 2012. In keeping with the patient-centric theme, the Pharmapack Awards jury now includes representatives of patient associations, doctors, and wholesale distributors. Submissions must be sent to UBM Canon (firstname.lastname@example.org) before 14 December 2012. Visit www.pharmapack.fr.
