Pharmaceutical Maker Upgrades Software at Distribution Center in Turkey

ROC IT Solutions reports that a major pharmaceutical manufacturer has upgraded its implementation of ROC IT Solutions technology for track and trace in Turkey. The company's distribution center in Turkey first deployed ROC IT Solutions software in 2009 to meet the Turkish Ministry of Health (MoH) directive for item-level serialization and upgraded after its parent company began using a newer version of ROC IT solutions in the United States.

According to ROC IT, "real-time integration with the manufacturer's global SAP-Aii instance gives the manufacturer an up-to-date master data base of its serialized product around the world." 

The distribution center receives both serialized and non-serialized product from its parent company and third parties. Using Motorola 9090 wireless handheld 1-D and 2-D bar code readers deployed with ROC IT Solutions software, staff can:  

* Scan item-level bar codes to receive serialized products.
* Scan bar codes on cases and transport packages and perform label redressing on site.
* Scan bar codes on shipment orders, then aggregate serialized product to the order to confirm the serialized shipments.
* Stage serialized data for transmission to the MoH, as required for verification of product authenticity prior to reimbursement.
