NYU's Prism Award Goes to HP Executive for Graphics Solutions
Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the HP Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), has been presented with the 2009 Prism Award. Presented annually by New York University (NYU), the Prism Award recognizes distinguished leadership in the graphic arts and communications industry.
HP IPG's Graphics Solutions Business develops solutions for commercial print service providers and in-plants, label and packaging converters, design firms, and other professionals. The Graphics Solutions Business's lineup include digital presses, large-format printers, imprinting/marking systems and associated servers, software, and finishing equipment.
HP offers Indigo digital printing technology in either sheet- or web-fed systems. The newest, the HP Indigo press 5500 is enhanced with new optional capabilities including in-line connection to UV coating, an additional 3-drawer feeder and support for thicker substrates, enabling broader application coverage and greater operational efficiencies. New features include a wider color gamut, with up to seven-color printing and new photo inks: light cyan and light magenta, digital matte, and brand colors.
In the last seven years under Joshi's leadership, HP IPG has grown revenue from $19 billion to $29 billion, and doubled its operating profit to more than $4 billion.
