New T.O. Plastics Plant Opens
T.O. Plastics Inc. (Clearwater, MN) has opened a 57,000-sq-ft facility in Otsego, MN, to expand its plastics processing capabilities. More space, increased cleanroom capacity, and new state-of-the-art in-line thermoforming equipment are all part of the new plant, according to the company.
“We are seeing an increase in demand for medical device packaging,” says Mike Vallafskey, president of T.O. Plastics. “We have also experienced a growing need for cleanroom requirements as well as off-line assembly and packaging.”
The new plant has certified 10,000-status and 100,000-status cleanrooms and is ISO 9001:2000 certified. It features a high-speed in-line thermoforming system for custom thermoforming production and medical device packaging.
“We previously produced these types of products at our Sun Plastics facility in Clearwater,” Vallafskey says. “ After moving the Sun Plastics operations to the new facility in Otsego, we dropped the Sun Plastics name and now all facilities operate under the T.O. Plastics’ name. Customers who previously received products that had been manufactured at our Sun Plastics facility have found the move to be transparent.“
