New IontoPatch Launches from Travanti Medical

Travanti Medical reports that it has added a new product to add to its IontoPatch wireless transdermal iontophoretic patch product line. The new product, IontoPatch Extra Strength, provides a stronger dose of 120 mA-min for more potent, yet safe, treatment of patients, the company reports in a press release. The stronger dose delivers more therapy in fewer treatments, it reports. The product is available in the United States beginning today, May 29, 2012.

IontoPatch Extra Strength is part of the growing family of IontoPatch products that introduced the first wireless iontophoretic patch into physical medicine and rehabilitation. This includes IontoPatch 80, IontoPatch STAT, and IontoPatch SP. The new product will be distributed, along with the other established IontoPatch products, through Patterson Medical/Sammons Preston, MOtion1 (NDC, Inc.), Dynatronics, and Advantage Medical (a subsidiary of Scrip Hessco).

IontoPatch features a self-contained flex battery that produces an electric current to carry drug molecules non-invasively across the skin and to underlying tissue. Drug delivery is shut off automatically when the prescribed dosage has been administered. Over 5 million IontoPatch transdermal patches have been administered to date, supported by published, peer-reviewed studies, the company reports.

Travanti Medical, a business unit of Tapemark, is based in West St. Paul, MN.
