MOCON Honored with International Trade Award

The Minnesota Trade Office has honored MOCON Inc. by presenting the company its Governor’s International Trade Award, MOCON reports in a press release. Award recipients are chosen based on their efforts to advance global trade, the development of novel ideas, and expanding the local workforce. The U.S.-based company has been pursuing global expansion and has installations in 79 countries, representing six continents.
MOCON manufactures testing instrumentation and offers related services for permeation, package integrity, shelf-life evaluation, package cost reduction, sustainability, and safety. 
“We are extremely honored that the Minnesota Trade Office has recognized our global trade efforts.  Our company was founded in Minnesota and four decades later, we continue to be a proud contributor to our home state’s economy,” said Robert Demorest, president and chief executive officer, MOCON, in a press release.
According to the press release, the awards were presented to only nine companies at a luncheon ceremony on October 29th.  The event was held in conjunction with Minnesota’s annual Governor’s Global Trade Conference.
