Published: August 17th, 2009
The CEO of an airless dispenser manufacturing company has co-founded and become president of an association promoting the benefits of airless packaging design.
Lucyna Silberstein, who is also the general director of Mega Pumps’ sister company, MegaPlast, founded the Airless Pack Association (APA) along with other producers of airless dispensing systems including Rexam, Lablabo, Mead Westvaco Calmar, and Quadpack/ Yonwoo.
During its first year, the APA is set to launch a series of communications initiatives, primarily in Europe, to improve the public’s knowledge and awareness of the benefits of airless packaging designs, especially its ability to preserve product and dispense 100% of the product.
It is also the group’s intention to create a press kit, and distribute press releases and other information, both within the industry, as well as to general consumer media outlets, and to women’s publications in particular.
Finally, the Association aims to establish a set of airless packaging guidelines with the goal of setting a high standard and ensuring quality products in the airless packaging industry.
“Our main goal is to develop the global market for airless packaging through communication initiatives promoting the systems and its benefits to end users and consumers of the product,” Silberstein said in a press release. “This will also benefit the brand owners – our customers – who are making the choice for innovation and added value when they choose airless products.”
