Lisa Hawkins Enhances Quality at Unicep Packaging Inc.

Lisa Hawkins is the newest addition to the management team at Unicep Packaging Inc. (Sandpoint, Idaho). Ms. Hawkins now serves as the company’s director of quality. Ms. Hawkins joins Unicep Packaging from a former role at Celeste Contract Packaging L.L.C. (Easton, Md.). She brings more than four years of experience in all phases of medical device and pharmaceutical quality and regulatory affairs to the company.

Ms. Hawkins primary role at Unicep Packaging (unicep.com) will be to oversee all regulatory compliance programs and direct the internal audit process, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits of the production facility. In addition, Ms. Hawkins will lead the external audit process including FDA, ISO 9000, and customer audits.

“My goals are to enhance UPI’s current compliance plan to ensure that we maintain the highest level of regulatory compliance and compliance to customer requirements and specifications,” Ms. Hawkins says. “Key areas will include validation, discrepancy identification and reporting, training, and batch record flow.”

Within their FDA registered and ISO9001:2008 compliant facility, Unicep Packaging has developed proprietary machinery and methods for producing the patented MicroDose and Twist-Tip dispensers. With locations in Sandpoint, Idaho and Liberty Lake, Wash., Unicep Packaging also provides non-sterile contract packaging and mixing for gels, liquids, lotions, and emulsions for oral healthcare, IVD, OTC / Rx, cosmetic, and nutraceutical markets.
