King Pharma Program Targets Pain Management

King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Bristol, TN) has launched PainBalance, an educational initiative to help healthcare professionals and others provide optimal care for all patients with pain.

Central to the inititative is a unique, comprehensive Web site, www.painbalance.org, that offers a range of information and tools to help professionals better understand all aspects of pain management.

The site features a series of high-quality 3D instructional animations. A “Narrative Scenarios” feature provides a unique case-based “walk-through” navigation tool to highlight the scope of the Web site’s resources.

Site resources include Pain Categories and Guidelines providing an online aggregator of existing guidelines with information specific to all pain categories; Treatment Options and Risk Management Tips provides in–depth recommendations for patient assessment and best course of treatment; a Clinician Tools and Resources feature includes an Opioid Risk Tool, a mobile-friendly calculator that helps quantify a patient’s risk level of potential opioid abuse.
