Keystone Folding Box Company Appoints New Director of Marketing
Keystone Folding Box Company has appointed Ward Smith as its new director of marketing. In his new role, Smith will be responsible for the development of compliance packaging and applications for both clinical and marketed prescription drug products in North America, Europe, and emerging markets.
“We are pleased to welcome Ward Smith to the Keystone team,” says Wade Hartman, presdient of Keystone. “His experience in clinical trials and compliance packaging give him a unique understanding of our objectives and make him ideally suited to market our line of patented solutions to the global pharmaceutical industry.”
Prior to joining Keystone, Smith worked as a compliance packaging specialist and clinical trial specialist at MeadWestvaco Corp. He also served as executive director at the Atlanta Institute of Medicine & Research. Smith belongs to the Drug Information Association, the Midwest Clinical Supply Group, and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering.
Keystone Folding Box Company manufactures and designs secure, compliant paperboard packaging including blister cards, heat-seal blister cards, folding boxes, specialty envelopes, and counter displays. One of Keystone’s most well established products is the protocol tested and approved Key-Pak F-1, a child-resistant, senior-friendly blister card. A traditional fold-over blister card, Key-Pak is suitable for clinical trials and offers ease of manufacturing without any additional components or assembly. Keystone is also a design center and source for nonpaperboard packaging components.
A privately owned company, Keystone was founded in 1890 by Jesse S. Keys in Madison, NJ. The company moved to Newark, NJ, in 1910 and in 1923 built a factory at its current location. Today, the historic company is owned and operated by the Hartman family, whose legacy reaches back over 60 years and three generations, as employees of Keystone.
