Global Vision Helps First Priority Reduce Costs in Tough Times
First Priority, a manufacturer of generic veterinary pharmaceutical products, implemented Global Vision's automated inspection solutions in an effort to reduce costs without compromising efficiencies and quality of their products.
First Priority previously spent significant amounts of time and manpower manually proofreading all labels, inserts, and secondary packaging. In addition, proofreaders had difficulty determining proper font sizes, transposition of characters, and foreign language spelling errors. Finally, they experienced inspector fatigue.
First Priority needed a solution that would allow them to reduce costs, increase the level of quality for their products, and give peace of mind. Global Vision's artwork and text comparator solutions were able to deliver on all these aspects. "The Global Vision systems really started showing their worth right from the start," says Bruce Heath of First Priority. "Within the first day of operations, the Global Vision system caught an error. It identified a misspelled word that might have been missed by our manual inspection process."
Accuracy was not the only major benefit. The company was also able to reduce the time that was spent on the inspection process as a whole by 86%. The reduction in time translated into increased savings and the ability to redistribute the unused resources to other places where it was needed most.
First Priority is now considering future uses for Global Vision's inspection systems. "We are really happy we decided to change the way we do things," says Heath. "It has really helped us to trim resources to make sure that we were prepared for these tough times."
