EnviroCooler Maximizes Cargo Load With New ULD System
Published: January 25th, 2010
EnviroCooler LLC (Huntington Beach, CA) has launched a new ULD for large pallet-sized loads designed to maximize LD3 cargo space on an aircraft. The CryoSphere & BioSphere P-O29 is stored on a cookie sheet as opposed to inside an airline LD3 metal container. In foregoing the container storage, the unit provides 20% more product load area.
The P-029 takes up the whole space of the LD3 position providing an internal payload area of 54 by 46.25 by 46.75 inches. In gaining more space for the same transportation cost, customers can drive down the cost per dosage or per mil.
The unit features a robust polyurethane construction that withstood the highest ISTA and ASTM testing thresholds when tested with a customer’s payload, the company said.
The ULD can be used with dry ice for frozen product or with gel packs for a palletized refrigerated product. For addressing longer shipment durations, the P-029 maintains frozen or refrigerated temperatures for 144 hours without reicing or repackaging.
