Enter MD+DI’s Dare-to-Dream Medtech Design Challenge
PMP News's sister publication MD+DI invites companies to enter its Dare-to-Dream Medtech Design Challenge. Participants are encouraged to design their dream medical device. "The biggest dreamer will receive a $500 check and two runners up will go home with $100 checks," MD&DI reports.
All submissions should be based on technological plausibility, MD&DI reports, so if a dream device incorporates time travel or mystical healing properties of the Phoenix (as seen in the first Harry Potter movie), the entry will not be judged.

• In 150 words or less, describe how your device works.
• In 150 words or less, explain what medical problem it solves.
• Create a drawing or a rendering of your dream device. Images and drawings can be in gif, jpg, or png format. They should measure at least 3 in. by 3 in. and have a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Entry deadline is Sept. 10, 2013.
• MD+DI editors will judge entries on three criteria—creativity (25 points), design and look (25 points), technological plausibility (25 points), and potential impact on healthcare (25 points) .
The top 10 highest scoring submissions will be posted in a slideshow on mddionline.com on September 17, 2013. Readers will be asked to vote for their favorite entries. Reader votes will be added to the editors’ scores to select a first-prize winner and two runner-ups. Winners will be announced through a blog post on mddionline.com on October 1, 2013.
Winners will also be interviewed for stories that will be posted online and published in the November issue of MD+DI.
