COO Resigns from West Pharmaceutical Services

Matthew T. Mullarkey has resigned from his role as chief operating officer of West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. (Lionville, PA) by mutual agreement. Company President and former Chief Operating Officer Steven A. Ellers, 58, will provide managerial continuity and support following the departure. In order to do this, Mr. Ellers has deferred his previously announced 2010 retirement from West Pharmaceutical Services Inc.

Before joining West Pharmaceutical Services, Mullarkey was president and CEO of Impact Materials Group, a privately owned engineered materials business. He has worked in senior executive and consulting capacities, including group vice president, global operations at Invacare Corp.

West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. is a global manufacturer of components and systems for injectable drug delivery, including stoppers and seals for vials, and closures and disposable components used in syringe, IV and blood collection systems.
