Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging to Acquire Cortegra Group

Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging has agreed to acquire Cortegra Group Inc. from Menasha Corp. Cortegra, a U.S. producer of leaflets and labels with two production facilities dedicated to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, will add to Chesapeake’s existing three U.S. facilities and its global supply network.

 

“Cortegra enjoys a coveted reputation as a high-quality supplier to the U.S. pharmaceutical market," said Mike Cheetham, Chesapeake’s CEO, in a statement. "It is an ideal partner to strengthen our service to customers and adds both size and scale to our U.S. operations. The acquisition extends our product range, customer base and our geographical reach. As well as presenting significant cross-selling opportunities, it reinforces our market position and demonstrates our commitment to the key markets we serve.”

 

Menasha Corp. President and CEO, Jim Kotek, added in the statement: “Aligning Cortegra with Chesapeake will position Cortegra for future growth and investments in innovative technology that will be of great benefit first and foremost to its customers, as well as to the business and its employees.”

 

Certified to international standards, Cortegra has production sites on the east coast in Fairfield, NJ, as well as a mid-west location at Evansville, IN. It employs 150 people and produces patient information leaflets, self-adhesive labels, folding cartons.

 

Cheetham concluded: “The acquisition of Cortegra is an important part of our strategy to grow and develop our business. Over the past two years, Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging has benefited from an unmatched investment programme which has provided new generation production equipment and strengthened customer service levels. We will continue to look at further opportunities to strengthen our integrated supply network in other regions both through acquisitions and customer-focused investment.”
