Catalent Pharma Solutions Using Xcelodose Micro-Dosing System

Catalent Pharma Solutions LLC has announced the addition of the Xcelodose micro-dosing system to its Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC, facility. This system provides high-precision metering of powder active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) into capsules, Catalent reported in a press release. The new system eliminates the need for upfront formulation activities and minimizes the amount of actives required to manufacture the clinical batch. Use of the system will help drug development scientists reach their “first dose in man” faster, Catalent shared in the press release.
