Baxter International Ranked among the Most Sustainable Corporations
Baxter International Inc. has been recognized by several organizations that rank corporations on progress in sustainability.
Baxter was included in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the world by Corporate Knights, a Canadian-based magazine promoting "clean capitalism." The Corporate Knights Global 100 team included Inflection Point Capital Management, Global Currents Investment Management, and Phoenix Global Advisors LLC. The Global 100 was announced in January during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. "Baxter is the only U.S. healthcare company to have been recognized in the Global 100 each year since the list was first published in 2005," Baxter reported in a press release.
Based has also been ranked 20th in Corporate Responsibility magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list. The ranking is based on more than 360 data points in seven categories: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial performance, and governance. This is the ninth year Baxter has been included on the list, the press release states.
Baxter is also listed in the Maplecroft Climate Innovation Indexes as one of the 100 top performers in carbon proficiency and resilience in the United States, Baxter reported in the press release. "Climate change is one of the key business and economic issues of our time," states Maplecroft on its Web site. "Companies that successfully innovate and manage climate-related opportunities and risks are better equipped to operate in changing policy environments."
