(Two of the team’s members, Bill South and Karl Hemmerich, were recently included in PMP News sister publication MD&DI’s list of 100 notable professionals in the medical device industry. The site explains fusion molding, which involves dipping heated rods into liquidized resin to create a seamless tube that is completely sealed on one end. The technique was originally developed to create plastic coverings for electronic thermometers in place of injection-molded covers that did not have uniformly thick walls.
