Versatile, Automated Capsule Fillers
Fast machines fill capsules with powders, tablets, or pellets.
A continuous-motion capsule filler is capable of filling capsules at a rate of 200,000 per hour in powder, single-pellet, and dual-pellet applications. In addition to its unsurpassed speed, the Model G250 features short cleaning times and simple changeover and is designed for quick maintenance. The modular, small-footprint system is engineered to be integrated with external capsule- and product-feed systems. It has a control panel that includes a Windows NT–based touch screen. The capsule-filling machine can be upgraded to accommodate the manufacturer's Nett System, an onboard weight control system. MG America, Fairfield, NJ.
A user-friendly semiautomatic capsule-filling machine provides a high degree of automation while meeting GMP standards. The capsule-loading, filling, and pneumatic capsule-closing stations of the SA-9 are fully automated. The system fills size 00 through size 4 capsules at rates up to 28,000 per hour. Its lightweight loading rings are designed to minimize operator fatigue, and the modular hopper can be dismantled quickly for cleaning, thus making changeover between batches a fast matter. A choice of 2 speeds for auger and 9 for the filling-table operation provides flexibility in achieving target weights. Encap Systems, Carlsbad, CA.
A line of encapsulation machinery includes three fully automated capsule-filling and closing machines and one semiautomatic encapsulator. The SeJong SF-40 automatic machine is rated at 40,000 capsules per hour and can formulate capsules with any combination of powders, tablets, and pellets. Similar fully automatic machines are the SF-90, rated at 90,000 capsules per hour, and the SF-135, rated at 140,000 capsules per hour. All three of these machines come complete with programmable logic controllers and touch screen controls. Also available is the semiautomatic CPT-22, which can fill as many as 22,000 capsules per hour, depending on capsule size and operator experience, and which can be equipped with Capsugel or Elanco tooling.
