UBM Canon, a division of UBM Plc, has announced the programme details for the annual 'MEDTEC Ireland Conference' taking place alongside the MEDTEC Ireland Exhibition on 10-11 October 2012 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Galway, Ireland. The conference is the 12th annual event and will focus on regulation, policy and best practice in the medical devices industry in Ireland.
Expert industry speakers have been confirmed and the two-day programme includes an agenda full of interactive presentations, discussions and debate with keynote addresses focusing on the Irish medical devices industry - excellence in research & research operationalisation presented by Barry Heavey, Head of R&D Policy, Science and Technology Adviser, IDA Ireland and The rise of the medical devices sector in Ireland presented by Dr. James Cunningham, Director, Institute for Business, Social Sciences and Public Policy (formerly Centre for Innovation and Structural Change) National University of Ireland Galway.
This year's event will provide need-to-know knowledge and insight into the regulatory changes being introduced by the European Commission this autumn. As well as how these developments in regulation and compliance will impact on your product design strategies and R&D functions.
"This event aims to facilitate networking and discussion for senior medical device professionals and enable attendees to hear first-hand examples of the latest technologies driving forward very real change in the industry" stated Conference Producer, Tessa Hood. '''With changes in regulatory control programmes coming from the European Commission, this timely conference will provide essential lessons needed in order to ensure compliance and vigilance.''
Set to attract senior executives in the industry including those with roles in clinical research, operations, product development and design, manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory affairs; the event will offer delegates a combination of case studies, market analysis and industry trends that will maximise learning during the event and enhance the main MEDTEC Ireland exhibition. Attendees can also choose to attend the full conference on both 10 &11 October or just one of the days, depending on what fits in with individual schedules and organisational needs.
In addition to the educational value of the conference sessions, there are networking opportunities built into the programme with specific networking breaks, and a catered lunch networking session. These breaks allow for face time with senior executives from the industry to facilitate discussion and new business connections.
