Servo-driven Machines

A series of blister-packaging machines is designed with up to 12 servo drives and can operate in continuous or intermittent mode. The BP-series machines require only one operator and feature an ergonomic balcony-style design. The BP10 can output up to 330 blisters per minute in single-lane operating mode. The BP20 can output up to 600 blisters per minute in double-lane operating mode. In both machines, the upper and lower heating platen drives are controlled by separate servo drives. The contacting movements of the heating platens as well as temperature preselection can be controlled from the touch screen panel. The BP20 can accommodate a maximum film width of 288 mm and blister sizes from 28 X 60 mm to 90 X 135 mm. The maximum film width for the BP10 is 165 mm with blisters from 30 X 60 mm to 90 X 145 mm. Each blister is guided through the machine. A suction pick-up arm safely removes difficult-to-handle or compromised blisters without stopping the machine. Blister Components

A company offers several thermoformers for producing child-resistant blisters. The machines produce peel blisters, blisters with thicker lid foils that require greater pressure to push out the product, and peel/push blisters that feature a layer of lid foil that has to be peeled back with the help of a tab before the product can be pushed through the second layer of foil. The company's platen sealing enables prolongation of the clamping time—designed to ensure absolutely tight sealing of the thicker lid foil. Integrated preheating of the lid foil optimizes the sealing quality. Deblister Machine

An automatic, tool-free deblister machine handles most conventional blister-pack constructions as well as packs where the blisters are offset and do not occur in uniform rows. A blister pack is put through the Wright Fenn 60's input feed chute and attaches to a specially formulated adhesive tape. The tape carries the pack through the machine and strips the foil from the pack. The tablets fall into a receiving tray and the empty pack is ejected from the machine through an exit chute. The used tape winds onto a spool and is discarded by an operator. One roll of tape can process up to 600 packs. Roll changes are as simple as changing an ink cartridge in a printer. Blister Line

A line of blister machines is designed to form each blister with the combined use of punches and compressed air for consistent film thickness and optimum product protection. The machines reach speeds up to 600 blisters per minute. The machines use flat sealing without rollers to ensure that an even amount of pressure is applied over the entire surface of the blister. Feeding and sealing stations operate with continuous movements to handle the blisters delicately. The MB460 features the use of 12 PC-controlled brushless motors. All changeover adjustments are done automatically through the PC. The machine's cooling plates are in the shape of the blister, designed to constantly and evenly balance the temperature of the formed blisters.
