Packaging show transports to a new venue.
Previously residing in Atlanta, SouthPack is heading to Charlotte, NC, this year. Billed as the largest packaging show in the South, the event will gather providers of packaging equipment, materials, supplies, and services in its new location.
Contract packaging specialist Unicep Packaging Inc., for instance, will unveil its new automated bottling line capable of speeds of more than 75 bottles per minute. The company can now fill bottles ranging from 2 oz to 5 gallons.
Tharo Systems will present its Tharo H-400 and H-600 Series thermal-transfer product identification and bar code label printers for large-volume printing. The units contain internal memory for storing downloaded label formats, graphics, and fonts. With such memory, the printers can operate without being connected to a computer.
Automated Packaging Systems Inc. will demonstrate its Autobag AB 255 OneStep bagging system for order fulfillment and short-run packaging operations.
SouthPack will host three special pavilions: Contract Packaging and Outsourcing Services, Material Handling and Logistics, and Green Packaging. The latter pavilion will feature biodegradable/compostable packaging, recyclable packaging, reusable packaging; recycled materials, nontoxic glues, natural inks, environmentally friendly coatings, biopolymer packaging, consultants, and contract packagers and manufacturers.
The packaging show will be co-located with Automation Technology Expo South, Plastec South, the new Green Manufacturing Expo, and other events. The shows are supported by the Institute of Packaging Professionals, Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News, Cosmetic/Personal Care Packaging, and others.
Attendance is free if you preregister online at www.southpackshow.
