Polyfoil Dropper Tube
A Polyfoil dropper tube won the Swiss Star 2009 Award at Lenzburg Castle in October 2009. A packaging company developed a patented Polyfoil dropper application system for its barrier tubes, which is unbreakable, convenient to use, and provides optimum protection for sensitive liquids. The tube is suitable for oxygen-sensitive eye, nose, and ear drops; veterinary products; and food supplements. The drops are always the same size, ensuring accurate and consistent medicine dosage. The tube is suitable for water- and oil-based solutions. A tamper-proof, tear-off band guarantees maximum protection. The dropper tube is available from a wall thickness of 350 micrometers. Polyfoil tubes protect against light and diffusion and are impermeable and corrosion-resistant and allow a longer product shelf-life than polyethylene or Coex tubes. Dyes and varnishes used to decorate the new dropper tube are UV-tempered and do not release any solvents during processing. In other Neopac news, Shenyang Sinqi Pharmaceutical Co. is seeing momentum via a partnership with Neopac. Neopac first partnered with Shenyang Sinqi Pharmaceutical Co., a Chinese manufacturer of ophthalmic products, when they provided a Polyfoil tube for the company’s newly developed Atropine Sulfate Eye Gel. The 10-mm-diam Polyfoil tube is the smallest of its kind. In 2008, Neopac helped Sinqi launch the Deproteinized Calfblood Extract Eye Gel in a 13.5mm Polyfoil tube with a special tamper-evident nozzle. In 2009, the partners launched Sinqi’s fourth-generation fluoroquinolone eye gel and Gatifloxacin eye gel in the same tamper-evident Polyfoil tube. Microtainer MAP Tube
A Microtainer Microtube for Automated Process (MAP) is the first microtube compatible with automated hematology instruments. The tube improves safety, accuracy, and turnaround time of capillary blood collection and testing in patients with fragile veins and is the first low-volume collection system to hold full-size patient identification labels. This feature improves upon traditional microcollection tubes that are incompatible with standard labels due to their size. One Piece Tube and Round Flip Top Closure
A new patent pending 50mm round one-piece tube and a 13mm round cosmetic flip-top closure are available. The round one-piece tube offers value-added features without added expense. The 13mm round cosmetic flip-top closure is the first of its kind and ideal for samples, testers, and over-the-counter products. The cap is part of the tube and diminishes the risk of loose caps and cap lead time, while always correctly oriented to the tube’s print copy. There is a snap-in feature for a bi-injection appearance. The tube is available with a PCR body and cap for a light-weight tube made with 70% less resin than standard packages.
